Axpo Italia trade the full range of energy commodities such as electricity, gas, oil, renewable energies, forex and we are responsible for optimisation and hedging of physical production assets in Italy.
For our Risk Management team located in Genoa (Italy) we are looking for a Junior Commodities Risk Analyst with a strong interest in the risk analysis, possibly with an experience in an Energy firm or in the investment banking sector.
He/She will be involved in:
•           Market and risk analysis.
•           Analyse results of algorithms and reporting of outputs for simulation, optimization and pricing of plain vanilla, American options and structured products
•           Performing ad hoc analysis for traders.
•           Performing fundamental market analysis
•           Co-operation with traders, middle office dept, and software developers
The qualified candidate shall have the following requirements:
-           Graduate degree in Engineering or Financial Economics,
-           1/2 years of experience in the Energy or Investment Banking sector would be preferred but isn’t essential. We could accept applications with little or no financial/commodity experience but with exceptional academic track record and potential.
-           Working knowledge of Excel;
-           Programming skills: good knowledge of at least one among MatLab, C/C++ , C#, Java, VBA
-           Highly analytical and excellent communication skills are essential in Italian as well as in English (both written and spoken)
-           Understanding (and willingness to improve the knowledge) in probability theory, stochastic processes, partial differential equations (and their numerical treatment), as well as optimization and numerical analysis is a plus.
In addition the ideal candidate should be self motivated and self starter as well as a strong team player.
