The Ericsson IPTV portfolio has been differentiated and has
consolidated many independent products and solutions into a smaller set
of Solutions targeting specific business segments. We now consistently
refer to our Multiscreen TV solutions.
Ericsson’s award-winning Multiscreen TV Solution's mission is to
enable TV service providers to deliver any content to any screen on any
network within one integrated solution. The Solution is easy to use,
easy to grow with, and easy to learn. Together with Ericsson as a
trusted partner, providers can use the Solution to deliver
next-generation TV services, and to evolve, grow, and be profitable in
the rapidly changing TV and media landscape.
The Solution Architect interacts with the customer to define and
provide technical, competence development solutions that enhances the
customer’s competitive position. The Solution Architect plans, designs
and deliver solutions that improve the customer network in terms of
capacity, functionality, end-user-services, and competence built up etc.
Normally a Solution Architect participates as a member of a Core 3
team and/or participates in the delivery project. The Solution Architect
identifies add on sales opportunities via a close cooperation with the
customer in the delivery project. A Solution Architect typically
interacts with customer staff, 3rd Party suppliers, MU staff and other
groups within Service Delivery organization.
Working as a Solution Architect you are expected to work, cooperate
and communicate in an international environment, both with colleagues
internally as well as customers and suppliers to Ericsson.
To succeed within this profession it is essential to re-use and share knowledge with your peers.
A Solution Architect is expected to travel internationally and work in different cultural environments.
The technical development is rapid and you are responsible for continuously keeping your competence and skills up to date.
Responsibilities for these roles include (but are not limited to):
- Participate in Pre-Sales & Delivery phases of a customer engagement
- Leading the solution analysis, solution design (and on where required) leading technical teams
- Taking the technical lead to secure the professional delivery of solutions (globally)
- Managing customer requirements and expectations from through to the handover stage
- Managing constant changes in scope
- Display leadership with respect to Ericsson resources, third party suppliers and contractors
- Sell competitive products/services solutions through a consultative approach, focusing on customer needs
- Act as a role model and mentor for less experienced members of the team
- Match our customers’ requirements to Ericsson’s Services & Product offerings
- Scope, define and design solution offerings; driving end-to-end technical solutions
- Analyze customer technology, define business requirements and participate in risk analysis
- Work with core team on list of potential activities and solutions
- Develop technical presentations and proposals, and perform customer presentations
- Stay abreast of on new technology/technical areas and share information about solution to enable customer competence build
