Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual base oil supply strategy and sourcing plan
- Drive supply chain optimization with focus on simplification, supply security, Cost of Goods and working capital reduction
- Key stakeholder resource for base oil activity in the region including local expert on regional supply/demand and pricing dynamics, trends and forecasts

- Latin America representative in contract and negotiation of global agreements
- Lead accountability for the PetrobrĂ¡s base oil supply relationship.

- Handle all aspects of local contracting from negotiation, document drafting, review with legal and risk group to request for organizational approval, execution and document retention.

- Operationalize long-term contracts for supply of base oils to meet the finished lubricants business requirements and drive end to end supply chain optimization efforts.

- Operationally responsible for supply to Blend Plants in the region and overall disposition of long/shorts, optimization of base oil inventory levels across the network.

- Implement and track operational performance metrics in the region.

- Optimization of supply from Buenos Aires refinery balancing internal use, local sales and exports.

- Base oil lead; Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy.

- Base oil lead in STEM activities (base oil shortages).

- Base oil lead in special projects and business development activities in the region.

- Maintain and document competitive intelligence in market.
- Ensure compliance with all HSSE and SAFETY standards and regulations for vessels, rail and road transport are met through indirect influence (including site visits).

- Encourage safe operations through all base oil supply operations.

Objective:Base oil is one of key components in the blending of finished lubricants. This position is responsible for base oil supply planning and logistics in a complex and diverse supply region with high growth expectations. This involves also the procurement of local sources and management of Shell’s own base oil production from the Buenos Aires manufacturing plant.


Requirements:
- Knowledge of lubricants supply chain

- Knowledge rating or above for HSSE competencies

- Negotiating and contract management skills

- Working knowledge of logistics, storage operations and product quality aspects

- Fairly conversant in financials

- Basic working knowledge of various base oil production processes and applications would be an added advantage

- Able to make decisions from incomplete information

- Excellent communications skills, both oral & written

- Stakeholder management skills

- Project management skills

MBA a plus but not mandatory
