Reporting to the GE PGS_O&M region EHS manager, functionally reporting to the Facility Manager, is responsible for all EHS aspects of the power plant.
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with the Facility Manager, Operations Manager, and the Maintenance Managers to ensure that day-to-day operations and maintenance actions are appropriate for proper plant operation. Based in Bs As.
This Professional will be also responsible to drive the site for the Global Star Recertification.
-Controls all EHS documents, including periodic review of the documents to ensure that it is consistent with plant goals and objectives
* Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency rules and regulations assigned
* Plans and implements programs to train site personnel in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials
* Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by site personnel and outside agencies
* Inspects site facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
* Leads the investigation of accidents, near misses and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for site use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations
* Ensures air, water, and discharge permits are in compliance, maintains required records, and submits required reports
* Develops and maintains emergency response plans
* Ensures that all hazardous waste is disposed of properly
* Ensures that all necessary equipment inspections are completed
* Performs EHS audits as required and coordinates third part audits
* Handles all contractor/consultant safety requirements
* Maintains reporting requirements for the overall GE PGS EHS organization
* Implement all the GE EHS Program to the power plant.
*Attend all EHS customer requirement and add value to the O&M contract.
- At least 5+ years of EHS related experience
- Health & Safety Bachelor Degree.
